We’re so excited to feature Avril and Jeff’s Irvine Nature Center wedding. These two are up there with some of the craftiest bride & groom duo’s that we have had the pleasure to work with. Jeff created a wedding ring box out of Legos, complete with a bride and groom Lego figurines. The rings were placed on the Lego bride and groom, and used during the ceremony. Avril took care of making all of the beautiful centerpieces for the guest tables, and so much more.
The ceremony took place outside at Irvine Nature Center. This eco-friendly venue offers three ceremony options within the property. Avril and Jeff had their ceremony in the woodlands of Irvine Nature Center. Serene, quiet and most importantly- shaded, this lovely outdoor ceremony was perfect for Avril and Jeff’s guests.
After the ceremony, guests went to Irvine Nature Center’s deck, where cocktails and appetizers awaited them. For appetizers we served, Hot Maryland Crab Dip, Natty Boh Cheddar Cheese Fondue, Bruschetta Bazaar (Roasted Vegetable Bruschetta, Muffaletto Olive Bruschetta, and Tomato Bruschetta), and an assortment of seasonal vegetables. Not to mention, Irvine Nature Center’s staff brought a few turtles to cocktail hour for the kids and adults to enjoy. Between the spacious grounds of the property, and the animal exhibits open to the guests – it is a very kid-friendly venue!
For Avril and Jeff’s Irvine Nature Center Wedding, the buffet dinner and dancing took place in the outdoor tent. After the great toasts made by Jeff’s brother, and Avril’s best friend, we opened the buffet. For dinner we served Spice Rubbed Pork with an Apple Cider Cream Sauce; Boneless Breast of Chicken stuffed with crab meat and corn bread, topped with a Champagne Sauce; Fresh Garden Salad offered with Ranch dressing and Raspberry Vinaigrette on the side; Glazed Baby Belgian Carrots; Triple Roast of Yukon Gold, Red Bliss, and Sweet Potatoes; and Artisan Rolls and butter.
For dessert, the bride and groom had marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers, so their guests could make S’mores with Irvine Nature Center’s fire pit. They even had a small ceremonial wedding cake, which served as the top tier of their wedding cupcake tower.
All of the personal touches are what made this Irvine Nature Center wedding so unique and special. Congratulations to Avril and Jeff!
