Want to make your next corporate function the best Baltimore team building event? How about a “chopped” style crab cake building demonstration and competition? Yes, we are a fan of the Food Network’s popular show, and wanted to bring a Chopped style catering event to Baltimore. We did an event Monday evening at the Top of the World, at Baltimore’s World Trade Center for The National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives. This was an amazing team building event that had everyone excited, entertained, and of course well fed.
Guests were split up into 9 teams, and had the challenge of creating a delicious and award winning crab cake. Members of NATLE span from all over North America, so we didn’t leave them completely on their own to tackle this challenge. Our Executive chef, Daniel Elardo, gave a quick history and demonstration about how we build our crab cakes. After the demonstration, teams were able to get any ingredients that they wanted from our pantry. They then had 25 minutes to build the crab cakes. After that, our chefs took the crab cakes in the kitchen and broiled one crab cake sample from each group to perfection. After the crab cakes were cooked, we displayed them so guests could enjoy a dinner sampling of their creations and those of other teams. Everyone really enjoyed this event and the fruits of their labor. Helping to make this the best Baltimore team building event, was our friends at Jazzy Blu who played great music for our guests the entire night.
