One of the greatest parts of designing a wedding, is the transformation of the venue. Jen and Kevin’s Oregon Ridge Park wedding took a practical park venue and completely transformed the room into a beautifully refined, rustic space. The ceremony took place outside, on Oregon Ridge Park’s spacious grounds. Jen and Kevin had colorful umbrellas for their guests to shield themselves from the scorching hot Baltimore summer sun. After the ceremony, guests walked a few steps up to the concert band shell for cocktail hour. The unique space was perfect for guests to enjoy appetizers like buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese balls, mini-chicken and waffles with maple thyme infused syrup, Latin beef empanadas, scallops wrapped with bacon with barbecue sauce and roasted garlic and saffron risotto cakes with sun dried tomato aioli. We even had a Raw Oyster bar for guests to enjoy.
After cocktail hour, guests went inside to Oregon Ridge Park’s largest rental space. Our friends at NoLo Weddings and Events, did a spectacular job with the room decor. With beautiful ivory table linens, dusty rose accents and burlap centerpieces, the room was setup perfectly for this summer wedding. We had three stations for Jen and Kevin’s Oregon Ridge Park wedding. One was our Middle Eastern Bazaar station featuring chef prepared falafel and turkey schwarma served in pita, and offered with our house made yogurt tahini sauce. Guests loved being able to choose all of the toppings that went in their pita like our marinated olives, cucumbers and roasted red peppers. We also had our Fruits of the Sea station with mussels provencale, New Orleans jambalaya, and crab claws. Finally, we had our Argentine Bogota Nights station featuring grilled Peruvian ribs, Argentinean roasted chicken, warm potato salad and quinoa salad.
Jen and Kevin surprised their guests with a late night snack of popcorn, and a cupcake truck! Iced Gems’ brought an adorable truck full of gourmet cupcakes like the “Bacon up a Storm” cupcake. It was the perfect way to top off this amazing Oregon Ride Park wedding. Congratulations, Jen and Kevin! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
