When searching for a venue, it can be helpful to make a list of “must-haves” to help narrow down between options. If being dock side for your big day is on your list, then Historic London Town & Gardens may be the perfect venue for your Annapolis waterfront wedding.
Krista and Eric chose this beautiful waterfront wedding venue for their special day this past September. The weather was absolutely perfect, which allowed for the most serene wedding photos alongside the South River in Annapolis, Maryland. Whether your wedding guests are local, or if they are traveling from afar; everyone will enjoy the picturesque waterfront background.
Krista and Eric decided to have a seated service wedding reception, with cocktail hour taking place in London Town’s beautiful garden area. Under the beautiful oak tree, we had an outdoor bar setup, of which the couple was able to provide the alcohol. We also had stationary appetizers including hot Maryland crab dip, roasted vegetable bruschetta, olive Muffaletta bruschetta, tomato bruschetta, Charcuterie board, and sweet and sour cocktail meatballs.
We also offered a variety of passed appetizers including miniature bang bang shrimp tacos, petit crab cakes, marinated portobello mushrooms with smoked mozzarella on pita wedges, scallops wrapped with bacon served with barbecue sauce, and an Asian Spoon of seared tuna, Asian slaw, avocado and wasabi sauce.
After cocktail hour, guests were invited into the beautiful wedding tent, where the guest tables were set for the evening. The crisp white table linens accented with light pink napkins added a sweet touch of color to the waterfront wedding tent. All of the wedding decor, including the white lanterns and mercury votive candle holders, was provided by 2Hands Studio.
For the main course, we served a field greens salad with dried cranberries, toasted almonds, crumbled feta cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette. Guests had the option of peppercorn tenderloin of beef served with port wine sauce, or a boneless breast of Parmesan crusted chicken with basil beurre blanc for their main entree. We accompanied both entrees with Yukon gold mashed potatoes with smoked Gouda cheese, and julienne vegetables of zucchini, yellow squash, carrot and red pepper.
For dessert, Cakes by Rachael provided a gorgeous wedding dessert arrangement of cupcakes and a small ceremonial wedding cake. The wedding dessert table was located inside, which was conveniently right next to the dance floor. Making it perfectly convenient to access for the remainder of the evening.
We had such a fun time catering Krista and Eric’s London Town wedding. We can’t wait for all of our 2016 Annapolis Waterfront weddings to take place this year!
Elizabeth and Jeff’s Annapolis waterfront wedding was everything good about a summer wedding. Without a cloud in the sky, Elizabeth and Jeff had their wedding ceremony at the beautiful Historic London Town and Gardens. We had the pleasure of working with the amazing team at 2hands Studios, who provided the fantastic decor for Elizabeth and Jeff’s wedding. The wedding place card holder shutters were the perfect way to display the guests’ table information, without the wind blowing the cards away. There was also a beautiful vintage trunk for gifts, and a unique guestbook that is now the perfect keepsake for Elizabeth and Jeff.
We created two wine barrel wedding bars that complimented the theme of this Annapolis waterfront wedding. We also had a separate bar for the bride and groom’s signature drink — Orange Crushes. Guests loved the freshly squeezed orange juice that makes this summer wedding signature drink so refreshing. For appetizers we served our Maryland Crab Dip, Tomato Bruschetta, Olive Muffaletta Bruschetta, Roasted Vegetable Bruschetta, Charcuterie Board and Crab Claws with herb mustard sauce and a spicy cocktail sauce. We also had passed appetizers for Elizabeth and Jeff’s guests including our miniature Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos, Jerk Chicken with Pineapple Curry Sauce, Asian Potstickers with Ginger Soy Sauce, Scallops wrapped with bacon served with barbecue sauce, and our Beef Carpaccio.
Dinner was served underneath the beautiful wedding tent, which overlooks the South River in Annapolis, Maryland. While toasts were given, guests enjoyed our field greens salad with sliced strawberries, dried cranberries, candied almonds, crumbled feta cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. For the main course, guests had the option of Bistro Filet with Cabernet Sauce, Chicken Roulade with asparagus, sundried tomatoes and gouda cheese, Rockfish with a Maryland Corn and Tomato Salsa, or a Portobello Mushroom Stack with Balsamic Glaze. All entrees were accompanied with grilled asparagus and a triple roast of yukon gold, red bliss and sweet potatoes.
After dinner, guests enjoyed dancing in London Town & Garden’s indoor Glass Pavilion. For dessert, Cakes by Rachael provided a beautiful naked wedding cake. We also had an ice cream sundae bar, which was perfect for this summer wedding. To top it all off, we served grilled cheese wedges as a late night snack. We had so much fun catering this Annapolis waterfront wedding. Congratulations to Elizabeth and Jeff!
