We always love sharing our Cloisters Castle catering experiences. If you are not familiar with this venue, it is a gorgeous castle that was designed to reflect medieval Europe and is located in a remote wooded area in Lutherville, Maryland. The wedding we catered for Amanda and Zach on Friday, August 22 was such an eloquent reflection of the venue’s Gothic charm. Amanda and Zach’s wedding ceremony took place in Closters’ outdoor patio gardens. Following the ceremony, guests were able to enjoy cocktails and appetizers inside Cloisters. Appetizers included hot Maryland crab dip, baked brie en brioche on raspberry coulis, an assortment of bruschetta, and a charcuteri plate.

After cocktail hour, guests were invited to their tables. Each table was named after a castle, which guests loved and made finding their seats fun. There were vintage centerpieces at each of the guest table too that fit the Cloisters Castle catering perfectly. Fitting with the theme, guests feasted on flank steak with au jus; spice rubbed roasted pork with cider cream sauce; baby field greens salad with crumbled Gorgonzola, glazed walnuts, and balsamic vinaigrette; triple roast of Yukon gold, red bliss, and sweet potatoes; and a julienne of yellow squash, zucchini, carrot, and red pepper.

Amanda and Zach had a naked wedding cake for their guests to enjoy for dessert. Not familiar with the term naked wedding cake? Growing increasingly popular, naked wedding cakes forgo the traditional outer icing layer of a cake. We helped Amanda and Zach design their naked wedding cake with Baltimore Cakery. The top tier and bottom layer of the cake was Baltimore Cakery’s Little Italy flavor, which is a cinnamon cake filled with cannoli cream. The middle cake was Baltimore Cakery’s Number 8 flavor, which is a pear cake filled with gold ribbons of fleur de sel caramel.  Check out the photos of the naked wedding cake, and the other photos from Amanda and Zach’s Cloisters Castle wedding. Congratulations to the lovely couple!

We’re always happy to help coordinate your wedding cake selections with any of our selected bakeries. We even hold the cake tastings at our office. Talk with your event coordinator to discuss wedding cake or dessert options.
